Our lawyers are integrated into our clients' organisations - that's the way our in-house law firm model works. This means that, like many other distributed teams, our team members don't get to see each other that often. Our daily connections are digital: MS Teams is our virtual water cooler where we share knowledge, support, photos, resources, and smiles through video calls.
This team distribution is one of the reasons why our recent Juno All Hands session was such a treat. The session featured three interconnected meeting rooms across Aotearoa, accommodating remote participation for those outside those locations or with accessibility challenges - a blend of face-to-face and screen-to-screen interactions, promoting collaboration and connection.
Hybrid and remote work isn’t going anywhere. Our experience reflects the research that remote work does not compromise the quality of our collaborations or connections. By embracing hybrid and fully remote models, teams can foster a culture where digital efficiency and personal interaction coexist, enhancing the well-being and effectiveness of people who, through the screen, smile back.
